A Few More Words on Mercy

RichnessofgraceHeart Lesson

This butterfly

any butterfly

will always remind me of Jennifer.

Two months before her death she led a high school girls’ retreat, using the theme of God’s grace that changes us from our old self into a New Creature.

Just as a butterfly emerges from the cocoon into a completely new life.

A life of lightness and freedom because the past is forgotten.

God’s mercy should not feel heavy.

It is as light as a butterfly

but it covers everything.

Everything we do.

Everything we are.

Everything we were.

His grace is rich and is lavished on us.

In him we have redemption

through his blood,

the forgiveness of sins,

in accordance with the riches

of God’s grace

that he lavished on us

with all wisdom and understanding.

Ephesians 1:7-8Nomatter

Counting the joys today of God’s rich mercy and grace that He lavished on me.

Praying for those I know who still carry a load of guilt because of a past they cannot forget.

Praying they can lay that guilt at the cross and not pick it up again.

Because you and I are covered!
