JIREH, the Lord is my Provider.
The test of Abraham’s faith in Genesis 22 staggers this mother’s heart. How could Abraham sacrifice his own son, the son promised and not received until he was over 100 years old and Sarah over 90?
God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac . . . and offer him there as a burnt offering . . .”
“The fire and the wood are here,” Isaac said,“but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”
Abraham answered,”God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” The angel of the LORD called out to Abraham and told him not to do anything to Isaac. “I see that you trust God.”
Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught in a bush by its horns.
I am thankful for each blessing provided by Jehovah-Jireh. He knows what I need and provides.
I’m writing every day in October about prayer, specifically prayers that honor and give glory to God. Click here to begin with Day 1. You can click on the cards above to print them, or click here to get the documents containing all the cards in this series.
