A Day Not to Forget

My sweet friend Lark popped up on Facebook this morning reminding me of this special day, Jennifer’s birthday.

How could I forget this day?

I’m three weeks in recovery from a knee replacement. I’ve primarily been in painkiller fog until yesterday. My stomach rebelled from the Ibuprofen with dry heaves in the yard before I could get in the house after physical therapy. I spent the rest of the day and night being as still as possible so my stomach would calm down.

This surgery has been 5 years in the making, and I have been sooo ready.

I have lots to be thankful for — all the sweet friends from church bringing food. We had to tell them to stop — we had no more room! Encouraging cards, phone calls, and caregivers have made this easier. But most importantly is my husband who now calls himself “A Caregiver”. Since I can’t drive – he takes me to PT three times a week, keeps the house picked up, and most importantly, cleans the kitchen.

I think I’m out of words and energy, so I’ll close this up for today.
